Does your Show Listing Look Like This?

May 14, 2008 – 1:41 am by Todd

Tonight I was looking at shows on Blubrry and I found this podcast at the very top of the show listing. Name removed to protect the guilty.

Blubrry2008whyWhat do you think a listener is going to do when they see this new episode listing. I can tell you what they are going to do they are going to skip it. The show will never be listened to.

The question I have for this podcaster is simple. Why did you even bother creating the content. You have no show notes, and you have not even done the basic things to make your show consumable to the public at large.

The question that needs to be asked should we delete shows like this, or do we spend hours trying to bring the show up to speed?

  2. Yes, these shows should be deleted, and possibly even banned. In addition, your system shouldn’t approve adding shows with too little descriptive text.

  3. You know, I updated the long-description for my show several months ago and it’s still not showing up.

I think it’s fair to harp on shows with no description at all, but it would be nice to follow-up on past blog rants and deliver on the functionality that was promised.

  4. What functionality are you referring to?

  5. Um… the functionality of using the long description if a show has included that info. When I visit my show page I only see the short description even though I input a long description.
