True, socially our highlight of the weekend was the Blubrry Vegas After Party at the famous Peppermill Fireside Lounge Friday night, Oct. 16. The strolling magician, DJ’s tunes, showgirls and of course Little Elvis set the tone and pushed the kitsch over the top at the Peppermill. Yeah, we can honestly say this was our best party yet  — because you told us so.

Thanks to everyone who attended and made the event such a success! A special thanks to our organizers, Aileen Kenny and Mat Luschek. We hope they’re not busy next year. Even more importantly, we look forward to seeing you there next year!

What a great night last night in New York City. On several levels the Blubrry Jam live event was a success.

1. No hitches. Thanks to the team at RawVoice including Jeff, Jeevan and Matt working hard. Family members pitched in too. Ben “Bendrix” Williams donated his video skills covering the entire event. The folks at the Canal Room were total pros as well.
2. Good turn out. In spite of cold weather, the Easter holiday and conflicting events. Podcasters (like Soccergirl & Ryan, Lynette and Chris Penn), podsafe musicians (like Slau, Lee Coulter and ShynDigg) and podcast moguls (from Podcast Pickle and Podcast Ready) mingled and enjoyed the show.
3. Top notch entertainment. HER & Kings County delivered some powerful urban country music. Keith & The Girl served up some edgy laughs between sets. Then Brother Love did his thing rocking the stage for an hour with new songs from Turn It Up and the the excellent stuff from Album Of The Year.

And to top it off we raffled an Apple TV at the end of the night. The night crawlers moved on to Tribeca Tavern just a few doors down to continue the party. From the looks of it everyone was having a real good time.

Thank you to everyone who helped out, showed up or gave some kind of support to this event.

I really can’t believe this date has snuck up on us so fast. Podcamp NYC is kicking off tomorrow at 6PM over at Slate. I hear that Brother Love will be there tomorrow night pressing the flesh and hanging with the folks who’ve really made a difference in his indie music career.

Today we launch our first of hopefully many charitable campaigns within the Blubrry podcast community. The Blubrry Jam To Fight Cystic Fibrosis is a campaign that will benefit the Exercise For Life scholarship fund that provides financial assistance to those living with cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an incurable disease of the the lungs that cuts the life expectancy of those afflicted to just 37 years.

We are teaming up on the campaign with podsafe music artist Brother Love and the Boomer Esiason Foundation. The Boomer Esiason Foundation started the Exercise For Life program after being inspired by Cystic Fibrosis Podcast host Jerry Cahill. Jerry is 50 years and living with CF. Jerry has improved his quality of live and extended his life expectancy by focusing on fitness throughout his life.

The campaign is running from March 15th thru May 15th and includes a live benefit concert in New York City on April 7th. On that night Brother Love will debut his long awaited follow up to Album Of The Year. Attendees of the live event will receive the new Brother Love CD as a gift for supporting the cause.

In short we’re asking all members of the worldwide podcast community to support the effort via donations and promotion of the campaign. If you’re a Blubrry podcaster, please replace any mentions of Blubrry with a mention of the Blubrry Jam for the length of the campaign.
